~$ whoami

My name is Stephen Gran.

I currently work full time for LinuxForce.  My job there is a mix of system administration, network design and troubleshooting, and programming.

I used to work as a Firefighter for the Philadelphia Fire Department, after 9 years working as a Fire Service Paramedic for them.

I used to work at Medic 9, the busiest Medic Unit in West Philly, and one of the busiest in the country.  If you would like to see pictures of me, the guys I used to work with, and my old station, you can view them here.  It hasn't been updated in a little while, but you get the idea.

The station where I was a firefighter, Engine 41, also in West Philly, doesn't yet have a Website.  I may have to fix that.

I also do a fair amount of work with computers, primarily Open Source Software.  In particular, I have been drawn to the GNU movement, and Debian.  I am a developer for Debian, albeit doing relatively small things at the moment.

If you are looking for a linux sysadmin for a short term or permanent position, please feel free to contact me.  My resume is available here, in MS Word format or PDF format. I will, of course, be happy to work with most platforms.

Happy Browsing!

I just did a quick write up of my experiences moving user accounts to LDAP on my mail server.  If you're interested, take a look here.
